Congratulations: Lisa Beale becomes an Associate Member of Solicitors for the Elderly
We are delighted to announce that Lisa Beale, an Associate in our Wills, Trusts and Probate team, has successfully completed the Older Client Care in Practice (OCCP) award to become an Associate Member of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE).
SFE are a national organisation of legal professionals, who committed to providing the highest quality legal advice on specialist areas, such as wills, powers of attorney and elder abuse. Membership of the organisation is restricted and only a very select group of people can become members of SFE.
To achieve the OCCP award, all applicants are required to undertake an assessment to demonstrate good understanding of the specific needs and considerations required when safeguarding and protecting clients' interests. The externally accredited certification requires individuals to display expertise in advising and supporting older and vulnerable clients by being able to communicate and translate legal expertise into clear explanations and guiding them through the process sensitively.
Lisa joins an ever-growing number of SFE qualified lawyers at Band Hatton Button. Department head Michelle Gavin is already a fully accredited member along with colleagues Lisa Moseley, Charlotte Macalister, Keri Wood and Helen Stott.
Lisa's success follows her recent promotion to Associate within the firm in October 2022, which was recognition for her commitment to providing a first-class service to clients, consistently going above and beyond to help clients get their affairs into good order.
