Why did you choose the law?
I wanted to pursue a career in law from a very early age and I feel very privileged to have been able to do so.
Tell us a bit about how you got here…
I studied law at the University of Leicester and completed my LPC at Nottingham Law School. I carried out my training contract at a firm in London and qualified as a solicitor in 2014. I am now a Senior Associate here at Band Hatton Button and have extensive experience in litigation and dispute resolution. I was named as a “Rising Star” in the Legal 500 in 2022 and 2023 and a “Leading Associate” in 2024
What does your day job look like?
My caseload is extremely varied as I am experienced in and practice a range of different litigation-based matters. To put this into perspective, my areas of practice are, but not limited to, the following:
- Contract disputes;
- Property litigation matters such as commercial landlord and tenant disputes, forfeiture, possession, dilapidations, contested and uncontested lease renewals and service charge disputes;
- Corporate and personal insolvency matters such as winding up proceedings, bankruptcy, administration and receivership, claims in liquidations and directors’ disqualification proceedings;
- Construction/building disputes;
- Debt recovery;
- Intellectual property matters such as copyright infringement and passing off;
- Defamation and breach of privacy claims;
- Licensing matters; and
- Shareholder and partnership disputes.
I pride myself on my ability to provide a fast, cost-effective and pragmatic service to clients. I am always prepared to go the extra mile for clients and I am dedicated, efficient and hard working.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I am a dancer (Bollywood and belly dance), avid reader and amateur baker. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and I love to travel particularly in the Middle East.
