Tell us a bit about how you got here…
Born and raised in Birmingham, I started out my career in the Banking Sector, mainly the retail side, and after 12 years moved into Law in 2002 before joining Band Hatton (now Band Hatton Button) in 2008.
What does your day job look like?
I’m a partner and the firm’s Managing Director with responsibility for developing and implementing strategy. With 30 years’ combined experience in two sectors, I have wide ranging experience in service excellence and business growth. Ultimately my job is to ensure that the business remains viable, but that can only be achieved by adapting quickly to economic challenges and events outside of our control. This year has of course been very difficult due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
I successfully merged Varley Hibbs, Button Legal and Band Hatton in 2013, and led on the firms most recent acquisition, Richardson & Davies in 2019. I am excited about the opportunities we will have in the next few years, continuing to build on our success and enhance the firm’s reputation as a leading law firm.
What do you like to do outside of work?
As for most people, the events of this year certainly remind you what matters most in life. I am a workaholic during the week, so my weekends are reserved for my wife and children! They are usually filled with taking the kids to football and swimming, watching movies together, long family walks, and home baking!
If I get a moment to myself, I love most sports so I will see what’s on the sports channels or listen to Radio 5 Live.
