Tell us a bit about how you got here…
I began my career as a Business Admin Apprentice successfully gaining an NVQ Level 2. Following this, I joined Band Hatton Button in 2012 as a Personal Assistant working directly with the Head of Employment. A couple of years later I was offered the opportunity to join the HR Team which I gladly accepted. My experience working in the Employment Department provided a strong foundation for this role and I now manage the day-to-day HR for the firm as a whole. The firm have supported me with my HR Qualifications and I have successfully achieved my CIPD Level 3 to become an Associate Member.
What does your day job look like?
Working in HR can be challenging at times, but also very rewarding. No two days are the same, which keeps me on my toes! A large part of my role is to provide support and advice to employees on a wide range of issues on anything from flexible working requests to company benefits. In addition to this I deal with the recruitment process from start to finish, training and development of staff, managing payroll and maintaining personnel records (to name a few!).
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy travelling when I can (especially to see my family who live abroad), going to the cinema, exercising and spending time with family and friends.
