Kate McNamara
Why did you choose the law?
After finishing school I was employed by a local law firm as an office junior. The law was not something I consciously chose to go into but after a few months of working within the firm, I found that law was of an interest to me and have worked in the legal profession ever since.
Tell us a bit about how you got here…
After working as an office junior I then progressed to a secretary within the same firm before moving to Button Legal (now BHB) in 2004 as a PA. I have worked in the Residential Property Department at Band Hatton Button ever since joining in 2004 and became a Paralegal in 2018.
What does your day job look like?
My role as a Paralegal is to support my colleague, I assist with all aspects of the conveyancing progress from start to finish. I appreciate moving home can be a stressful time and I understand there may be lots of questions clients may have. My greatest strengths lie in my approachable manner and commitment to every matter. I am always more than happy to deal with any questions no matter how trivial they may seem in order to make the moving process as stress free as possible. I also liaise with other Solicitors and Estate Agents on a daily basis to keep transactions moving and all parties updated.
What Do You Like to Do Outside of Work?
I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also like to keep fit and I am part of a local running group as well as being a keen sports fan (mostly as a spectator!) I have a particular interest in tennis and have been fortunate to attend Wimbledon on may occasions.
