Why did you choose the law?

The law encompasses and regulates nearly everything you could think of and is constantly developing which fascinates me. After securing work experience at various law firms, I knew a career in law was for me.

Tell us a bit about how you got here…

I graduated from Aston University with a first class law degree in 2019 and joined the Corporate team here at Band Hatton Button as a Paralegal. Over this period of time, I built up five years’ experience in corporate and company law while I studied part-time for my SQE with a Masters in Legal Practice. I was awarded a distinction and shortly after qualified as a Solicitor in 2023.

What does your day job look like?

I advise on a range of corporate and company law matters, transactions and commercial matters. I have acted for a range of clients including small and medium sized companies, family managed businesses, partnerships, LLPs, individual shareholders as well as larger national and international companies (both private and public). Some of my areas of practice include:

  • Share sale and purchases (M&A)
  • Management buyouts (MBOs)
  • Asset acquisitions and disposals
  • Corporate reorganisations of family run businesses
  • Solvent restructurings and demergers
  • General company and shareholder matters including shareholders’ agreements, articles of association, partnership / LLP agreements
  • Intellectual property assignments and licences
  • General commercial agreements including T&Cs, contracts for the supply of goods & services, bespoke commercial contracts and website policies.

I enjoy collaborating with clients and third-party advisors over the course of a matter or transaction to achieve clients’ objectives. Each matter and transaction is unique and I take pride in providing tailored legal advice in a pragmatic and commercial manner.

What Do You Like to Do Outside of Work?

Outside of work I am either spending my time with friends and family, at a gym class, lost in a good book or ticking off somewhere on my travel list.
