Property Disputes – Leasehold
Sector
Private client.
How we helped
Our client owns the leasehold of two maisonettes, and needs to make alterations for his disabled wife. The Freeholder is deceased, and when he bought the properties, he took out indemnity insurance to cover this risk as ground rent hadn’t been paid for years. The client approached us for leasehold enfranchisement.
After some investigations, we were able to locate the freeholder’s children, and are currently making enquiries with their solicitor in respect of obtaining consent for the alterations, and buying the freehold from them.
Value
No direct financial value although the amenity of our clients’ property is at stake.
